Last updated June 2026 · Preliminary — a lawyer-reviewed version will replace this before Justify opens to the public.
Justify helps you build one verified rental credential and share it with landlords on your terms. This page explains, in plain language, what we collect, how it is used, and the control you keep over it.
What we collect
The information you choose to add to your credential: your name, contact details, and bio; your rental history; income and employment; a self-reported credit estimate; household and background answers; and any documents you upload as proof. We also store the answers past landlords give when they verify a tenancy or write a move-out review, and a log of when your share links are opened.
What we do not store
Justify does not store raw government identifiers — Social Security number, driver's license number, or date of birth. When identity and financial verification vendors are added, they collect those at check time and Justify keeps only the result (a verified badge), never the raw data.
How it is used
Your information builds your credential and computes your Justify Score from verified facts. It is shown to a landlord only when you take an action that shares it — minting a share link or applying to a unit — and only the sections your share link allows. We do not sell your data, and we do not show it to anyone you have not chosen to share with.
The control you keep
You decide what each share link reveals, and you can revoke any link at any time. You can see when a link was opened. Verifications and reviews come from real past landlords and are permanent once submitted; if one is inaccurate, you can contest it and a person reviews the dispute.
Your consent
You control when your information is shared. Building your credential, minting a share link, or applying to a unit are deliberate actions you take — each one is your consent to share the sections you have chosen, with the landlord you have chosen, for the purpose of a rental application. You can withdraw that consent at any time by revoking a link, or for an application by contacting us. Using Justify means you agree to this policy and to your information being processed to run the service.
How long we keep it
We keep your credential and its data for as long as your account is active, so your verified history travels with you across moves. Share-link open logs are kept so you can see who viewed your credential. Landlord verifications and move-out reviews are part of the permanent record of a tenancy. If you delete your account, we remove your personal data within 30 days — except limited records we are required to keep to comply with the law or to resolve an open dispute.
Deleting your account
You can delete your account and the data in it at any time. During early access, contact us and we will remove your data within 30 days; a self-serve delete in your settings is on the way. Deleting your account revokes all of your share links immediately, so nothing further can be opened.
Service providers
We use Supabase (database, authentication, and file storage), Resend (transactional email), and Vercel (hosting). These providers process data on our behalf to run the service.
If something goes wrong
If we ever discover a security breach that affects your personal data, we will notify you and the appropriate authorities as the law requires, and tell you plainly what happened and what to do.
Your rights
You can see, correct, or delete the information in your credential at any time — most of it directly in your profile, the rest by contacting us. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights to access or delete your data, and we honor those. If you have any question about your data, contact us.
This is preliminary
Justify is in early access. This notice is a good-faith summary and not yet a final legal document; a lawyer-reviewed privacy policy will replace it before Justify is opened to the general public. If you have questions about your data in the meantime, email us.
